Haakonsvern Naval Base

A number of German WW2 mini-submarines as well as the tower of the submarine B-2 by the UVBI. This is a fully operational naval base, so access is limited. Contact the base before entering.

Oscarsborg

The he Oslofjord Coastal Batteries which Krupp guns Moses, Aron and Joshua of 1900 vintage sunk the German cruiser Blücher in 1940. Oscarsborg is still in use as a training center.

The paddle-wheel passenger steamer Skibladner, which was built in 1856, is the world's oldest steam ship still in use.

Three restored 1100 year old Viking-ship discoveries from Gokstad, Oseberg and Tune as well as other finds from Viking tombs around the Oslo Fjord. Small boats, sledges, cart with exceptional ornamentation. Implements, tools, harness, textiles and household utensils.

The Arctic exploration ship Fram, built in 1892, is exhibited with its original interior and inventory. The ship was used by Fridtjof Nansen, Otto Sverdrup and Roald Amundsen for three Arctic expeditions. A comprehensive history of arctic exploration is presented around the ship.

Forsvarsmuseet

Oslo Castle (central Oslo). Models and artifacts from the Norwegian Navy, mainly 1905 - 45. Torpedoes, guns, Hs293 guided missile, Enigma cipher machines, historical library for researchers. The Royal Norwegian Navy operates the museum vessel Hitra, a fully restored submarine-hunter from the US, used for commando operations on Norwegian coast during WWII.
